Biography

Treiops Treyfid was born and raised in the Chicago area. Treyfid attended The Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC in the late 80s. During his time in the nation's capital, he developed as an experimental musician under the name Triptic of a Pastel Fern. Later he collaborated with others on an art punk band called Pitchblende, which toured extensively.

While still in DC in the late 90s Treyfid began painting in his “Abstract Repressionist” style. It drew subject matter from the unconscious aided by the techniques of visualization and dream analysis. Upon his arrival to California in 1999 Treyfid continued this style while pursuing venues for his work. In the 2000s his work changed and he began experimenting with mixed media sculpture, installation, and new media performance.
