According to the 1880 Census Sarah was born in South Carolina. She married an unknown McMillin before 1858 who apparently was born in Tennessee. In 1880 she was a widow and living with her family in Union Church, Bullock, Alabama.
Sarah's daughter, Eldridge Josephine McMillin related to Ralph, my father and her grandson, that she had travelled from the Carolinas to Alabama in a wagon train when she was young. However, both the 1880 and 1900 U.S. Census lists her as born in Alabama. But, I've noticed a lot of discrepancies in the Census information so, this story could be true. What that could mean is that Sarah married her husband in South Carolina and travelled to Alabama in a wagon train with at least Frank and Eldridge.
Sarah died sometime after 1880 probably in Alabama.
