Olof was born in Gråmanstorp parish, Sweden. His father Nils Olsson, who was a crofter (or tennant farmer) died when he was only six years old. He married Ottilia Wilhelmina Rosalie Carlsson, 8 July 1888 in Gråmanstorp. Olof worked at Klippans Finpappersbruk (Klippan's Fine Papper Factory) for many years. He recieved a medal for long and faithful service. He often worked nights and stayed in a separate small house on his property, in the garden. His three sons emigrated to America. Verner went first in 1916, Clarens followed in 1917, and Eugen travelled last in 1924.
