Elias R. Reynolds
Born: 1856 in Alabama
Died: after 1904 probably in LeGrand, Alabama.
Father: Unknown Reynolds born in Georgia
Mother: Adaline Reynolds born in Georgia
Married: Kate Noble at home of Bride and Bride's mother, Emily Elizabeth Walters, LeGrand, Al., 15 October, 1895.
Children: Daisy Rhee (b. 1896), John Sankey (b. 1899), Emily Elizabeth (b. 1902), Chestley Elias Jr. (b. 1904).

According to the 1880 Census, Elias R. was born in Alabama in 1856. Elias was the oldest of four children. He had two brothers, Jinkins (b. 1859) and John (b. 1865), and a sister, Mary (b. 1862). Both Elias' mother and father were born in Georgia. The 1880 Census shows Adaline Reynolds and her family of four children living in Keelers, Montgomery County, Alabama. It is presumed that Elias' father is dead at this time because he is not listed along with the others. On the 1900 Census Adaline is listed as a widow. The Reynolds family were farmers.

In 1887 Elias bought 160 acres of land in Montgomery County from Soloman Dreyfus and wife for $640.00. The town is not listed in the Deed, just a description of the area. View the Deed.

On October 15, 1895 Elias married Kate Noble at the house of Kate and her mother, Emily Elizabeth Walters (Noble). A W. J. Suggs is witness on the licence. View the Marriage Licence. Elias and Kate had four children being Daisy Rhee (b. 1896), John Sankey (b. 1899), Emily Elizabeth (b. 1902), Chestley Elias Jr. (b. 1904). It is not known when Elias died but, I presume it was some time after 1904.

On both the Land Deed and the Marriage Licence Elias Reynolds is listed as E. R. Reynolds and Elias R. Reynolds. I don't know the reason that the name Chestley was not used. However, I am certain that these are the same person because the Census records and other family information confirms this.
