Celia Dawson was born before 1755 in Wayne County, North Carolina. She married William Walters from Dobbs County, North Carolina. Celia was the daughter of Joseph Dawson and Elizabeth Bryant.

1/12/1794: Land grant #196 was entered for William Walters for 50 acres west of Drowning Creek on both sides of Inman's Pocoson Branch. Recorded in Book 93, page 088. He received this land grant from the state of North Carolina for 50 acres in 1795. In this year William and Celia moved from Dobbs County, North Carolina to Robeson County North Carolina. They settled in the southeastern section near the Lumber River near Present Day Barnesville, NC. William and Celia had fifteen children and eleven have been identified of these are four daughters and seven sons.

11/7/1812: William Walters Sr. deeded to William Walters Jr. 267 acres on both sides of Indian Branch, adjoining Dawson Walters land on south side of Inman's Branch, adjoining James Lewis. Recorded in Robeson Co, NC Deed Book Q, page 233. Indian Swamp flows northeast to southwest about 3/4 of a mile west of Barnesville. Inman Branch flows into Indian Swamp...

Will of William Walters Sr, 1829. William died 1841 in Robeson County, North Carolina.

In the name of God amen, I William Walters Sr of Robeson County in the state of North Carolina. Being of sound mind and perfect memory do this twenty first day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine do make and ordain and publish this my last will and testament in manner following. That is to say first i give my soul to God who gave it and my body to the dust from whence it came. There after pay all my just debts. I leave to my beloved wife Celia a negro man named Ben, and a Negro woman named Hagar. Also three cows and calves and one Beef cow of the same stock, also two sows and pigs and one riding horse and all my house hold furniture of every description. Also all my plantation tools. The above I leave to my wife during her natural life or widow hood, then I give and bequeath the above Negro Ben in the room of Simon which I had previously give in a deed to be equally divided among Eadeth Lewis, Esther Grimsley, Celia Pervis, and Ellennora Loe, the part of the above mentioned with all that I may hereafter acquire to be equally divided between my lawful heirs. Joseph Walters and my son Briant Walters is to pay to Dawson Walters my son fifty dollars from each, which was mentioned in the deed of gift. Now my son Thomas Walters I give to him one Dollar. Also my son Briant Walters I give unto him an equal part with the rest of the heirs of my body and i do constitute and ordain my son William Walters Jr and James Walters executors to this my last will and testament.
